Great stove.
I bought my Tamarack pedestal stove to heat the basement of my house, approximately 1600 square feet. The space has a great room, shop & master bedroom. The stove worked great during last winter, very efficient wood burning and did a great job heating the entire space. I took a tour of the factory, excellent workmanship & quality control. A great group of people, family run & faith based! I love the fact the operation is based in north Idaho.

Tamarack Stove
I've had my Kuma Tamarack stove for 3 years. I love it. I have a double wide mobile home and it keeps us plenty warm in the -20 & - 30 temps. Easiest stove to start a fire. I'm glad I have it and if I ever move I'm keeping my stove.

Awesome stove
Being on the far north coast of California means fog, drizzle and rain for the majority of the year, so having a wood stove is essential for staying warm and keeping mold from developing in your house. We’ve had the tamarack installed for a few months now and couldn’t be happier with it! We got the steel leg package with the black door and it has such a clean, unobtrusive style but looks fantastic in the corner of the room. We haven’t had to turn the heater on a single time since we’ve had it, and so far no mold. Our 1000 square foot bungalow is always toasty, sometimes we even need to open a window. Love this stove!

Fantastic product, Wonderful people
I am so impressed with the product and the people! We spent a lot of time looking for a good wood stove that was reasonably priced. We had never heard of Kuma, but the sales person showed us several features of the tamarack that made it our choice. Three years later, and I am as impressed with it now as I was the day it was installed. Burns clean and easy, and now the only source we use for heat. We live near Mt Rainier and get a lot of cold snowy days. Standing in front of a roaring fire watching it snow outside feels so blissful! I even emailed Kuma with a question about keeping the glass clean and they called me to explain how it works. I am so impressed that I don't have to clean the glass, a hot fire will do the trick. I would highly recommend Kuma to anyone, for both the fantastic product, and the wonderful people!!!

Very Happy
We purchased the tamarack a couple of years ago to add some supplemental heat in our 24 X 24 garage conversion. We opted for the pedestal base with ash pan, and the black door frame with sunburst decor. We installed the stove on a raised hearth which conceals the cold air intake. The tamarack in this configuration with pedestal base required only ember protection, so we covered the hearth with stone tile. For our smoke pipe connection between the stove and the ceiling (double wall insulated metal chimney), we installed 6in single walled stainless steel telescoping pipe. In my opinion, this shiny polished pipe accented the stove very nicely. Both myself and my spouse grew up heating with wood and this stove does a nice job adding warmth and ambiance to our new room. For the good or the bad, I am a shopper and I looked and researched for a good while before making this purchase. This stove is not the cheapest out there, but in my opinion it is very well constructed and worth the money. So far we are very pleased with our Kuma stove. Thank You

Great stove
Bought this stove from Bitterroot stoves. Decided on the Tamarack after talking with the sales person. The main reason I chose a Kuma is because they are American made. The stove works great and definitely keeps the place warm. Best investment I made this year.

Should Have Done It Years Ago
Finally retired to my (1000 sq ft) cabin on the lake and having endured a few power outages I thought I'd install a wood stove for secondary heat. The local dealer, All About Chimneys, looked the place over and recommended a Kuma Tamarack. Installation took half a day, beautiful job! And it was just in time for the next set of storms to come in. It's now my primary heat in this place, because wood heat is really something else. My advice is to listen to somebody who has done it before with respect to sizing. A stove that looks too small in the showroom can absolutely cook you out. Once the paint is baked in, there is NO smoke inside and nearly none outside with decent wood. Workmanship on this thing is flawless. These stoves are handmade, each by a single individual. You wouldn't think a lump of black steel in your living room would be a beautiful thing, but it is; in fact, with snow falling outside and a fire inside, it's gorgeous. I got the pedestal with the ash drawer and found that it has a very effective draft function when just getting a fire started. The stove shouldn't be run that way for long, and I can see why, it's like a blowtorch. With good wood there's very little ash and it's easy to clean. So glad I bought this stove! Should have done it years ago.

Awesome wood stove

I have a Tamarack stove that I purchased last year from Bitterroot stoves and Billiards. I have a 1600 sq. foot house and my forced air system died in December. I decided to go with only the Tamarack and fix the forced air later (still not replaced) The Tamarack was so efficient that I used it alone and it performed way past my expectations. Thanks so much for such a fine and well built stove, I'm more than happy ++++ with its performance, such an Awesome stove!

Assembly and installation instructions are simple and straightforward. The stoves itself is beautifully constructed, no burrs or warped panels. We really appreciated that our Kuma is made by a small, family owned company. Looking forward to our first burn tonight!

Efficient

We love the air wash system that allows us to see the fire without cleaning the glass door, the fact we can keep it so close to the wall, giving us more living space, and the fact that we don't burn near as much wood as we used to. Loving our new stove.

I purchased this stove for our cabin in Washington State and was pleased enough with it to also get a Kuma Ashwood for our home in Oregon.

Lights easy

My extended family runs a resort in the Sierra Nevadas in N.California. A cousin bought a Kuma for the great room/dining room, and I've never loved a stove as much as this one. Unlike any other, it practically starts itself. A few twigs, a roughed-up log, a couple of twists of newspaper, light a match, close the door, and you can literally turn your back and walk away. No huffing and puffing, no nursing the tiny flame, etc. In late fall when snow falls before we close up, the Kuma heats that drafty room with many single-pane windows. The stove is so tight, and puts out so much heat. When the damper's down, you can see that the flames are forced toward the door before going up and back toward the chimney. If or when we get a woodstove for our home in New Hampshire, it's Kuma or nothing. I'll insist.

Thank You

Just wanted to thank you for producing a stove that I have been looking for, for quite some time. I have been researching for the past year the numerous brands of woodstoves on the market. I decided to make a trip to The Fireplace Suite in Mancelona Mi. to see what products they offered. And to my delight, Toby Goodall Pointed out your stove line. After all the online Google searches, Your product did not come up. (You may want to let your web designer know ) Anyway, I've had your stove now for 3 days, and my house hasn't been any warmer and safer. My ole Ashley Automatic was a chimney fire waiting to happen. The only negative is, I have to alter the length of my logs to accomodate the stove, But that just gives my 14 yr old son and I quality time together cutting and splitting further. I am so glad to have purchased an american made product that is of the highest quality, and workmanship. Again, Thank you.
